If I actually played Lotto, 19 would be my lucky number. Apparently that's how old most people think I look; if I got a dollar for every person who guessed that number I'd be rich right now... OK that's just highly exaggerated but it's worth a gamble. (I don't gamble btw except with life changing decisions).
Recently a customer came up to me and told me about the story of her life. It only took her the amount of time for me to make her latte to tell me she's been married, divorced, now has a lot of paper work to do, court stuff, and some other random things. Since she is divorced she decides to give me a word of her wise advice:
"When you get older, don't get married."
I'm pretty sure she didn't see the ring on my ring finger as I handed her her latte and said: "Oh.." followed by "Thanks. Have a great day!!"

This outfit is another one of my lazy outfits but the highlight is my scarf. It's a BASILE scarf made in Italy with 100% lambswool and retails for $70+ (according to my research). I love the red and black pattern. Another great find for only $5... with tags attached!

How old do you look? Is it easy for someone to guess your age or is age just a touchy subject?

I joke about playing the lottery, but never do. If you turn the 9 upside down, you get one of my lucky numbers--16. 6, 8, and 16 are my lucky numbers. 16 was my baseball uniform number and it's my wife's birth date. You could pass for 19, but I could never pass for any of my lucky numbers being my age. =)
ReplyDeleteI'm asuming the divorced lady didn't offer her advice teasingly or with a smile. It's certainly easy to get down and let our own bad experiences color our view of life (I was there for a day or two :P), but it's really sad when we not only lose sight of the amazing things all around us, but also start trying to get others to be negative too. People need encouragement and that's what we should share.
