- Don't spend a lot of money
- Don't spend it on flowers cause they die
- I prefer you making me something
- I like food
- Don't spend a lot of money (that's not a typo, I normally repeat that one to him)
So, today, Valentine's Day, husband came to pick me up and together we went to eat at Nando's. So we arrive at Nando's and since I was carrying a heavy bag with me I asked him to open the trunk so I could transfer some stuff in there while we were in the parking lot. In response to my request my dear fishy-looking husband reluctantly responded: "Trunk?"
I didn't have to ask him anything cause in a second I knew what he had going on. He popped open the trunk while I glanced around for a spot to dump my stuff when my eyes landed on a dozen of 'em red ones sitting near the back. "You got me roses?? AWww."

Obviously when he decides to give you what you didn't ask for just accept it cause he was thinking of you. I held myself back on the spending money on flowers lecture.. but I did ask if they were expensive.
I looked at the bouquet and lol'ed. To me it was still a surprise since I had no idea he bought me flowers.
We already had our Boathouse dinner to "celebrate" our Valentine's dinner a few days ago. We would have had that dinner even if it wasn't Valentine's Day since we bought a Boathouse gift card from Costco that would have had to be used anyway. Boathouse has been our go-to restaurant for celebrating "us."
Anti-Valentine (hey that rhymes) or not, here's me wishing you a Happy February 14th! : D

Hubby and I don't celebrate big time either - I even picked out my own roses at the shop with him yesterday! I didn't want him to go crazy in Valentine's either. We spent a lovely quiet day together and that was special. Hope your dinner was nice!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Sometimes less is more and a quiet day is always refreshing especially after a hard day of work.
